Standard welfare vans in the UK are emitting massive amounts of CO2. To maintain power supply in the welfare vehicles, guards need to run the engines for six to twelve hours a day which means refuelling the vans regularly just to maintain basic welfare provision.
We took the decision to design and build an Eco secure Ford Transit mobile welfare unit to overcome the problem. The Stag Eco Welfare Unit is now fully operational. Initial test results on the prototype vehicle show that in the case of one client alone, weekly consumption of fuel was reduced from 109 litres to less than 10 litres a week -
A staggering 91% reduction in CO2 emissions as well as a projected cost saving of £6000 per year on diesel.
